August 29, 2010: Day 241

My little man relaxing after a long beach day.
Ruby creates art wherever she goes. I love that about her. A smiling ice cream cone, nonetheless.

August 28, 2010: Day 240

Ruby & Patrick playing on the rocks at EPYC where I used to play when I was their age.

August 25, 2010: Day 237

Glanced down at my beer to see a perfect heart shape in the foam. Love is everywhere.

August 24, 2010: Day 236

Trust me, I simply love high heels. In fact, Gramma used to call me "High Heels" because of the sound of my signature footsteps. But at the end of a long workday, kicking off those heels is a heavenly feeling.

August 23, 2010: Day 235

There is something peaceful and relaxing about a rainy day.

August 22, 2010: Day 234

Corn husk and banana leaf flowers.
Wasting time all cozy in a second-hand bookstore on a rainy, summer day.

August 21, 2010: Day 233

Woke up in Boston, landed in Buffalo, and was standing in front of Niagara Falls by 11am. Not a bad start to the day.
M&M
Reuniting.

August 20, 2010: Day 232

I had the best conversation with this little girl about how awesome the color pink is while we waited for our pedis to dry.

August 19, 2010: Day 231

Date night with mum.

August 18, 2010: Day 230

I've seen this guy peddling around Salem a few times and always wish I had my camera with me. Finally got to snap a photo of him and hear how he built this sweet custom bike.

August 17, 2010: Day 229

I am spoiled rotten. Another spectacular evening at Fenway Park.

August 16, 2010: Day 228

My muscles are sore, my bones ache, my skin is bruised and I can barely keep my eyes open. All signs of a really, really good weekend. Now after a day of work, it's time for some quality couch time.

August 15, 2010: Day 227

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." - HDT
All of my friends are subjected to my infamous self-timer photos that I love to strategically plan out. I know inside they may be rolling their eyes but they always (almost) go along with it and humor me when I have a "vision" because they know how much I enjoy capturing these moments. Deep down, I know they cherish them, too. We didn't quite get the timing down for this jumping picture - but Corey nailed it and this picture makes me so happy.
We had sing-a-long and made s'mores by the campfire, watched a meteor shower while floating in the lake at midnight, played wine pong and left-handed darts, waterskied and tubed until our muscles ached, and discovered the ultimate way to cook corn on the grill. Not sure you could ask for much more. Again, I agree with Egg Lasagna when he said if asked to play "High/Low" for the entire summer, this weekend was easily the high.

August 14, 2010: Day 226

Craig said it best..."The food was amazing, we feasted every time we ate...
...The water was black and beautiful. The coffee exquisite...
...The fireworks were fun, expensive, and made Corey happy...
...I am still rocking as if I were on the dock."
Without a doubt, this is life at its finest.

August 13, 2010: Day 225

I'm a lucky gal to work with one of my best friends; it certainly has its perks.
Perfect summer weekend begins....now!

Girl scout cookie martini :)

August 11, 2010: Day 223

This blog project has been an unexpected opportunity for self-reflection. I'm starting to notice patterns in my pictures and origins of contentment. The obvious of course -- family, friends, nature, etc. But I'm learning that contrary to what I once I thought, I truly am a creature of habit and routine. I find much contentment in my daily rituals and I've carved out space in each day for something I love. Mondays, hot yoga. Tuesday, teaching. Wednesday, live music & beer at my favorite spot and so on. But there are still little surprises in the repetition. Tonight I noticed Spiderman hanging off the light fixture. Awesome? I think so. It's amazing the little things or details you can miss time after time.
Another pattern? I find comfort and smiles in delicious food. This yummy hummus plate certainly made me content.
Prime parking spot. Thank goodness...my parking karma has been restored.

August 10, 2010: Day 222

In my opinion, the world can never have enough purple.

August 7, 2010: Day 219

Saturday morning at the Gulu with an iced mind sweeper (coffee topped with two shots of espresso), egg & cheese crepe, my yoga magazine (thanks, Cork!) and my camera. Suffice it to say that I have everything I need.
Stumbled upon some sidewalk sunshine.

Riding off into the sunset...Happy Friday!
