This is so true! Not only is it better for the environment and the grocery stores' costs - but comes in handy when merchants such as Whole Foods give you a monetary incentive to re-use shopping bags
In 2008, while going through a 13-month yoga certification program, I was tasked to keep a contentment journal filled with random notes that I scribbled throughout the day of things that I thought or saw which made me content. Some things were small or seemed insignificant, like an iced coffee from my favorite coffee shop or a compliment from a stranger. Others more significant like a hug from my niece, holding hands with a loved one or accomplishing a lifelong goal. After doing this simple exercise for a short time, I realized how being aware of life’s simple pleasures made me even happier. So with a new year upon us, I will take a picture a day of something that made me smile, happy or content in some way – because no matter what, there is happiness in every single day.
